The “riuraus” of the Marina Alta
The «riurau» is a construction from the 19th century. XIX of stone and wood, characteristic of the rural architecture of various regions of the Valencian Country, which serves to shelter the reeds with raisins while it rains or is humid. They were the “factory” where the mistela was worked and made, and many of them are restored and can be visited. We highlight the Gran riurau del Senyor de Benissadeví, in Jesús Pobre (Dénia), and the Gran riurau de los Català d'Arnauda, in Xàbia.
